Joy as a leitmotiv

When Frank Lemmens made the move from Chief Enterprise Architect at VRT to Myreas a year ago, he didn't immediately expect a first year of this kind. Like so many of us. We went to visit him in his home office in Leuven and talked to him about joy as a leitmotiv, tactical roadmaps and Top Gun.

The image that Frank had of Myreas and also of Colruyt Group was fully confirmed for him in the past year. "During Corona, the days are pretty tough and you are currently in back-to-back online meetings. And yet after every day I do have a sense of accomplishment in my work." It is this rare combination of job satisfaction and people values that he strongly appreciates among the colleagues at Myreas and within Colruyt Group.

"In most companies, those values have been hanging on the wall for years and are not acted upon. Here I have experienced something different. Here they are really practiced."

Frank has had several professional hats on during the past year within Retail Partners Colruyt Group. He works as an Enterprise IT architect, but also as a capability IT architect and operating unit IT architect. This does work for him in the sense that he is confronted with a lot of things and can/should switch constantly. "One minute you're working on the strategy of Retail Partners, the next you have to go and dive into the database yourself."

But what is priceless for him is the great trust that was placed in him from day 1. From the start, he was able to sit at the table for the rollout and roadmapping of large, strategic projects. These are things that give him enormous energy in the job he can carry out within Myreas.

With an open mind he looks at all the expertise that surrounds him within his own project teams and the many starters at Myreas. It gives him a reassuring feeling that he made the right choice and that he can continue to learn.
